Payments & Refund Policy

To place an order and have your cake put on our schedule for your event date a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. Without the deposit, I will not hold your date or add your cake to my production schedule (baking, decorating and delivery). If you elect to wait until 2 weeks (or less) prior to your event date to place your order, I cannot guarantee that I can make your cake due to my full schedule – even if you have previously talked with me.

Final payment is due 2 weeks prior to your event date. If payment is not made by the due date the cake will not be started, scheduled and may be cancelled. I will do my best to contact you in the event that you don’t contact me by the date due; however, the responsibility to finalize your order is yours. Since some cake orders are well in advance of the event, please let us know if you change your contact information so we can contact you if needed.

I do offer delivery to the Colorado Springs area at no additional fee.  I am not responsible for your cake once it is delivered to your specified location. If you elect to have me deliver your cake to a restaurant or other facility where you will not be personally accepting your cake; that’s not a problem; I will obtain a signature of acceptance from whomever you designate to accept your cake and I will take a picture of your cake once delivered. Of course, I cannot accept any responsibility for your cake once I deliver it and you’ll accept full responsibility.

When delivering to a hotel, other specified location or otherwise meeting you with your cake, myself or my delivery person will wait up to 15 minutes beyond the specified delivery time, after which, we will reload the cake and you’ll have to reschedule (and an additional delivery fee may apply) for delivery of your cake. Also, please be sure that we have a good, local contact number so we can make contact with you in the event there is a problem or we can’t seem to find you. When coordinating deliveries, communications is very important – please be sure that we have accurate and current contact information.

If you choose to pick up your cake with our curbside option and transport it yourself, I am not liable or responsible for the cake once it has left my possession. You should prepare your vehicle so it is clean and free of items that could roll or slide into the cake. I do everything in my power to provide a well-structured cake, but please note that cakes are very fragile and are easily damaged – especially larger cakes and those that are heavily decorated. Please, drive carefully and slowly – quick turns and sudden stops will damage your cake.

I am not liable for a cake once it has been delivered or picked up.

Refunds of the deposit amount are not provided for any reason, unless cancelled by me. I will gladly refund any amount paid above the deposit amount as long as the cake is cancelled at least 30 days prior to your event. Allow up to 30 days (plus bank processing time) for your refund to post back to your original method of payment. Due to my full schedule and my attention to detail I spend many hours planning and preparing before even starting your cake. Not to mention the costs of processing your order and ordering supplies sufficient to make your cake.

Remember – heat, sun, rain and humidity are not friends of your cake. Any cake placed outside during an event has the possibility of melting or deforming due to environmental conditions. We recommend that your cake be stored in refrigeration until an hour before needed at your event. Assuming that your cake will be sitting in a typical room temperature (air conditioned in the hot, summer months) environment, we recommend that the cake doesn’t sit out of a non-refrigerated environment for more than 3 hours (less if in a hot or humid environment).

Wedding and custom cakes are designed to serve the number of people you specify. My cake serving size is 1 ” x 2″. While I try to ensure that you will have sufficient cake for your party, if you are serving larger slices of cake than the suggested serving size and run out, I am not responsible to provide additional cake. If you aren’t sure how to properly cut your cake, please don’t hesitate to ask when you receive your cake – I'll be happy to explain the process to you.
